چکیده

We propose a nonlinear filtering framework for approaching the problems of channel state tracking and spatiotemporal channel gain prediction in mobile wireless sensor networks, in a Bayesian setting. We assume that the wireless channel constitutes an observable (by the sensors/network nodes), spatiotemporal, conditionally Gaussian stochastic process, which is statistically dependent on a set of hidden channel parameters, called the channel state. The channel state evolves in time according to a known, non stationary, nonlinear and/or non Gaussian Markov stochastic kernel. Recognizing the intractability of general nonlinear state estimation, we advocate the use of grid based approximate filters as an effective and robust means for recursive tracking of the channel state. We propose a sequential spatiotemporal predictor for tracking the channel gains at any point in time and space, providing real time sequential estimates for the respective channel gain map, for each sensor in the network. Non trivial, real time recursive estimators of the variance of the channel gain map predictions are also developed. Additionally, we show that all three estimators converge towards the true respective MMSE optimal estimators, in a common, relatively strong sense. Numerical simulations corroborate the effectiveness of the proposed approach.

Multi-channel Medium Access Control Protocols for Wireless Sensor Networks: A Survey

Extensive researches on Wireless Sensor Networks (WSNs) have been performed and many techniques have been developed for the data link (MAC) layer. Most of them assume single-channel MAC protocols. In the usual dense deployment of the sensor networks, single-channel MAC protocols may be deficient because of radio collisions and limited bandwidth. Hence, using multiple channels can significantly ...

Tracking performance of incremental LMS algorithm over adaptive distributed sensor networks

in this paper we focus on the tracking performance of incremental adaptive LMS algorithm in an adaptive network. For this reason we consider the unknown weight vector to be a time varying sequence. First we analyze the performance of network in tracking a time varying weight vector and then we explain the estimation of Rayleigh fading channel through a random walk model. Closed form relations a...

Target Tracking Based on Virtual Grid in Wireless Sensor Networks

One of the most important and typical application of wireless sensor networks (WSNs) is target tracking. Although target tracking, can provide benefits for large-scale WSNs and organize them into clusters but tracking a moving target in cluster-based WSNs suffers a boundary problem. The main goal of this paper was to introduce an efficient and novel mobility management protocol namely Target Tr...
